Accessing Your Web Server
Using FTP software you can upload and download files to and from the server. We recommend FileZilla available for free here.
It allows you to drag and drop files from your computer to the server and vice versa.
This software will allow you to have 2 windows open with a file manager view of your computer in one and the server in the others. Drag and drop folders and files.
You will need to open a “local browser” to access the files on your machine.
Connecting to the Server
In the address bar at the top enter your ftp address. Usually will be something like ftp.your-domain.com then your username and password. This will connect you to the server and a new server browsing window will open.
Website data is stored in the public_html folder and/or in the www folder. One or the other it does not matter, they are mirrors.
Uploading & Downloading Files
Simply drag and drop files or entire folders from one window to the other to upload files to the server or download them to your local machine.
Creating Folders
To create a new folder right click on the server browser window, while inside the folder you wish to place the new folder and select New - Folder. Single click on the new folder name and you can edit the name of the folder.
